Are You Ready to Hop?

It is time for a Birthday Bash Blog Hop! The Everything's Rosy stamps have quickly become favorites of mine for simply beautiful cards. My little sketch book is getting quite a workout these days with ideas I keep scribbling down. I hope I can find the time to put the ideas to paper soon!

Today, I'm sharing another wild rose card with you. Like I said the other day, it is one of my favorites from these stamps. I have reached for it quite a few times already; I just can't get enough of it! This card was inspired by a beautiful pillow that I saw in a window display at Pottery Barn. The colors are what I had noticed first - red, pink, blue and green - perfect for this time of year. Then, I realized that the print would make pretty patterned paper, too.

After some stamping and masking, it still needed something. I pulled out my colored pencils and shaded the blossoms and leaves to give it just a little depth. Here is a closer look at the colored pencil work:

I can see myself using colored pencils a lot with the solid images in this release. The pencils give the highlights needed to really dress up the stamping.

Would you like to have your very own wild rose and many thanks FL to add to your stamp collection? Well, if you leave me a comment, you'll be entered in the A Muse Birthday Blog Hop for both of these *new* stamps. Then, hop on over to the blog of Lisa Strahl, A Muse friend extraordinaire, for another giveaway.

Your comment here, as well as on all the other hopping blogs, will also enter you in the A Muse Birthday Blog Hop Grand Prize (on the AMN blog). If you want to find a full list of all the Birthday Blog Hop Stampers, check the A Muse News Blog.

stamps: wild rose, many thanks FL, wild rose branch
paper:
natural white notecard, sky blue paper
ribbon:
popsicle pink grosgrain stitch
other: Prismacolor color pencils, foam adhesive, brad
